Siege Fortfication Set #1

Sieges have been an important component of warfare from the beginning of recorded history. During the Black Powder era, siege warfare was seen in nearly every major conflict. The weapons of the period were strong enough to blast through nearly any fortification-given enough time. If reinforcements arrived, the attackers ran out of supplies, or perhaps if the weather became severe enough, the forces under siege stood a chance. This meant that once an army was under siege, anything it could do to slow the inevitable bombardment and subsequent weakening of the besieged defenses was more often than not the only chance of winning. To slow an attacker down, the best method was usually to sally forth and attack the attacker. To defend from these sallies the besieging forces would have to build temporary fortifications. The Siege Fortification Set #1 is an excellent item for all kinds of scenarios for your games. It may be a temporary fortification used to guard a strategic objective from the enemy or it could be a part of an elaborate siege work for a town off table. The limited edition under construction section can be used as an important gaming piece in its own right. Try playing a game where the attacker is trying to destroy the under construction piece and thus halt or at least slow down the siege. Sometimes critical materials like powder or even shovels are in short supply for a besieging force. Have the attacker take and then occupy a section or more of the siege works for a number of reasonable turns, and the attackers lose their equipment! The Siege Fortifications Set #1 contains enough sections to build a simple yet effective Siege work about 44 inches or just over a meter in length. This set contains two gun emplacements, two straight sections, a 30 degree outside corner and a limited edition under construction section found only in this set. The instructions contain special rules for using the under construction piece. Many more sets and components are planned and the pieces contained in this set are available separately for expansion. This should allow you to build stunning and elaborate siege works for nearly any conflict of the Black Powder, Horse and Musket, or Pike and Shotte period. This product is APPROVED! This is an unfinished kit. To finish this product, you will need primer, paint, a little flock and glue (not included). This Product is NOT A TOY and is recommended for Hobbyists ages 14 and older.
